Dr. Birx is a tragic case study. An intelligent, highly educated, highly accomplished scientist who gets caught up in the Trump web. Most scientists are not fabulously wealthy, what they have is their reputation for integrity.
Birx, in her advanced years, sadly, has sacrificed her reputation by her proximity to the killer of reputations.

" Now if you are really into research you'd count all the scientists in each citation and count all the children and young adults that died from Reye's and write a short and DUMB conclusion: Aspirin is a dangerous drug and clearly should be banned from use because too big a dose kills everyone and with children can lead to Reye's and death. I told you where to look for the research that show promise and on April 20, 2020 that work said that late use with hospitalized COVID 19 victims, especially those in the ICU or on ventilators is NOT likely to be of any benefit, the best use and safest use with early when people are first testing positive and HAVE symptoms of COVID 19, why have symptoms? Because about 50% of those exposed and positive never get sick enough to be symptomatic. The April 20 study of 1061 patients in Marseille does not include HCQ in prophylaxis use. I worked as a researcher and made a fine living at that profession these negatives reports are just as normal a part of the process, as normal as positive reports. What justifies going on with further studies? When stuff fails outright there are no positive reports. What justifies early use of HCQ?
