  2. 10,000mg to 150,000 mg per day of ascorbic acid. learn how to take that much in a day. 500 mg x2 would not even affect the common cold. Linus Pauling yes was a chemist, but a Nobel Laureate. None of the doctors who denigrate vitaminc c's effectiveness in disease are much more than informational repeaters, certainly not in the intellectual and perceptual league as Linus Pauling.

    Most modern doctors do not understand, or refuse to understand, the chemical mechanism of ascorbic acid's functioning and thus accept staggeringly low doses for trials, then claim it's ineffective. If they did that with antibiotics, they would also conclude they are ineffective. Too low of a dose.

    From the physicians who used ascorbic acid to treat disease, most serious illnesses required ascorbic acid intakes of 10,000 to 100,000 mg ( 10 to 100 grams) per day until the patient is well. The recommendation of 500 milligrams 2x per day would never help a seriously ill person in time, they would stay ill for the normal amount of time, or worse, die.

    His recommendation of tablets also reflects a lack of knowledge. Tablets are notoriously poor broken down and thus poorly digested.   3. We must remember that Vitamin C taken in pill form is much passed through the body. Taken in the form of Vitamin rich foods it is fully assimilated. That's what we do. The Good Gardeners charity has been doing this for 60 years and the health of all those who practise this type of food growing and consumption have improved their health.
